Combitech is now looking for employees for our Intelligence & Response unit in Stockholm and Linköping. As part of the team, you will join a unit consisting of several knowledgeable specialists in investigation and intelligence who work closely with clients and at the forefront of methods and technology.

Your role as a senior cybersecurity expert

As a senior cybersecurity expert, you will have a leading and advisory role. You will work closely with your approximately 30 colleagues across the country, supporting and coaching junior colleagues by acting as a sounding board in their assignments and participating in assignments together with others in the team. In the team, we have regular check-ins where we share experiences, discuss new approaches, and solve problems together. As a senior expert in investigation and intelligence, you will also focus on ensuring that, together with the team, you have the conditions to do a good job, from the right equipment and methodology to the way we communicate and present our interim and final results.

In many of our investigations, you will take on the role of Incident Manager, ensuring that the investigators have the right conditions and that our client receives all the information they need to best solve the task. Typical tasks include reviewing and assessing IT environments from a security perspective with your closest colleagues, investigating and analyzing intrusions in IT systems and environments, monitoring and following trends among attackers, or performing reverse engineering of various types of malware.

It is also common for you to participate in client meetings to help our salespeople and clients specify assignments and approaches so that nothing is overlooked, planning the various elements and methodologies of the assignment, and planning the execution so that the right people and competencies are in place. At the end of each assignment, you compile reports and present them to both technical and non-technical recipients, in Swedish and English.

Our clients come from various industries, with a particular focus on critical infrastructure such as defense industry, banking and finance, energy, and government agencies. Typically, we have two or more consultants on our assignments, but even for solo assignments, the team is always close at hand to act as a sounding board.

Many of our clients request knowledge from frameworks such as OWASP, OSSTMM, TIBER, and NIST, as well as certifications such as OSCP or equivalent from SANS or ISC2.

The position is based in Stockholm or Linköping, but other locations may be relevant for the right candidate. Travel in the job is common as many of our assignments require us to be on-site with our clients. As much as possible, travel is planned to accommodate life situations.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is confident in methodologies, techniques, and working methods within IT security and who has encountered many different IT environments and industries. You are used to taking responsibility for planning and defining assignments and test plans and can move seamlessly between strategic discussions and practical execution. Even if you have a technical education, your experiences and personal qualities weigh the most for us.

You have worked extensively with cloud platforms and feel at home in Microsoft or AWS environments, especially regarding security features, design, and implementation. You are accustomed to formulating clear and technically in-depth reports and presenting results to both technical specialists and management teams.

We see that you have extensive experience in investigations, cyber threat intelligence, or penetration testing and that you have built up deep expertise in one or more areas such as cloud architecture and security in Azure or AWS, security testing and reviews within Threat Intel and Red Team, various types of penetration tests, scenario-based testing, and threat actor simulation. Your background may also include network design, communication and protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancing, and storage. Other relevant experiences include IT forensic investigations, reverse engineering, environmental monitoring focusing on CTI, intelligence work, and threat actor profiling as well as architecture, hardware, operating systems, virtualization, and containers.

As the position involves work that is subject to defense secrecy, you will need to undergo and be approved in a security review with a background check.
